With All This NSA News, I Think It’s Time To Get A Blackphone

Around this time, or late last night, the company called Blackphone will be working on and releasing their own privacy protected phone. Something more thank half the world has been waiting for. No one like finding out that anyone has been going through their personal date. There as been a lot of thought and work behind how this phone can be built for safely and styled around it!

As of right now there isn’t much information about the phone itself or when it will be released. I for one will be waiting for this phone to drop with a huge hype around it. I want to see how well it works and if it can be parted with Android a little bit like Ubuntu can.

The Nokia Lumia 1020

The Nokia 1020 is the newest flagship Windows phone that was released yesterday. This phone is made to be an upgrade of the Nokia 808 that ran Symbian and a new version of the 920 that runs Windows. There really isn’t anything different from this smartphone that’s not on the Lumia 920 from Nokia but its camera, new camera grip, and the camera app.

The new Nokia Pro Camera is an update to the normal stock camera. The 41-megapixel camera that is added to this phone makes it a lot more powerful than the 808 PrueView camera and the 920’s stock camera. With the six-lens Carl Zeiss optics hardware gives it another profession camera look, it has a 3x zoom feature, autofocus feature, and a dual-flash feature.

Nokia’s Lumia 1020 also as a Xenon flash (the same as the Lumia 928) with a smaller LED flash. It also captures HD 1080p video.

Last thing about this phone is there is a camera grip. The grip is added to the 1020 to make it feel more like a camera when you want to use it as a camera. It’s easier to old and it has a capture button as the top. All you have to do is snap it on there, the USB port is already inside the grip do there’s no need to look or buy one to make this work. It also add extra battery life to your phone.

The phone itself is a U.S. exclusively at AT&T that’s started at 299.99 on contract. The Unlocked version might be at a good 500 at the most. The camera grips is sold on its own but I could not find how much it’s being sold for. I would say that once this phone and it’s grip drops, I will be getting an unlock 1020…. In 2-3 years.

Samsung Galaxy S4 ZOOM Camera?

This is something I’m kind of confused about. Is it out or not? I’m not sure, I see people making a video about it but what I don’t see is the camera on the Samsung site. I’m not going to talk about this until I see it on Cnet and/or PocketNow. I’ll wait before writing my thoughts on this camera.

Xbox One and iOS 7

I’ve seen that both of these huge things was talked about today. Sadly, I wasn’t able to watch a live stream of either of them.

So, for iOS 7 I will wait until I will be able to upgrade my phone to talk about this.

Xbox One, because it will be $500 when it comes out, I might be getting it soon. Maybe tax time but who knows. For this I will try to learn what I can before writing another thought about it.

Apple’s iOS 7: What Are You Doing?

Right now, as I’m typing this, I’m watching the Pocket Now Live Chat and they are talking about WWDC and what Apple can do better.

I myself am not an Apple fan. I hate the OS but I love the devices. They make beautiful phones, screens, and laptops but the OS is the only thing I hate. I do hate their cockiness but that’s not what I’m talking about today.

Now, because this iOS 7 has not been officially leaked, most of these thoughts and pictures are fake or one maybe real I just don’t know. But most likely, they will change. So lock screen is the same as the last one, no dash board is the same as the other.

iOS 7 was said to be  COMPLETELY redesigned to be more bold, FLAT, and perfect? I got bored of the older UI really fast and I wanted something new and out there. But for that you’ll have to jailbreak your i-whatever. I don’t want to jailbreak my i-whatever!

So, for all I know this new iOS is going to have Widgets on it!!!! Or, at least, that’s what it looks like. Now, I do have to say, this looks really cute. A little bit too cutesy to be Apple. It mostly looks like Go Luncher on default for i-whatever.

The dash board and the lock looks a lot better. So what Apple’s really going to do is add Widgets or something like that because that’s what everyone wants! But they could fuck with us and not give us Widgets and just a new look to the UI. Then again, think about it; do you know how many people are saying there is going to be Widgets/Small Apps? This means, so many people want that to come true. And do you know what will happen if they don’t get that? I don’t think Apple wants to know what will happen.

My thought is that Apple does not have the luxury of screwing people over not with the Samsung phones nipping at their heels. I feel like  WWDC could be their big break IF THEY DO IT RIGHT. By that I mean, giving people what they want. Sadly, Apple users want it to be like Android without having the name Android. My biggest question to Apple is; How can you do that without looking like an  Android copy?

And my thought to that is; I don’t think they can. I don’t know what Apple is going to give us or how it’s even going to help them. But for all the Apple fans out there and for Apple, I really hope it’s good.

New Phones for T-Mobile – I’m Not Complaining

So T-Mobile got and is getting new phones. As far as I know, it’s only in America but it might be in other countries too.Being on the T-Mobile plan I find having these new phones add are great but really hard to chose from.

They seem to have a bunch of new phones that some people didn’t even talk about.

All great phones and at a good price but it’s really hard to pick if you’re really unsure on what you want in a phone. For me, I would think about getting Blackberry but I really need an Android and, as much as I don’t want to, iOS phone. I most likely won’t get 2 phones from here but It’s to pick out the one I really want.

Galaxy S4 Announcement Tomorrow!

I would have posted this before but I was busy finishing other post that I wanted to put up.

Anyway! Tomorrow at 7:00 pm (Eastern Standard), PocketNow is going to do a live stream talking about it and is also going to have an PocketNow editor at the announcement as it’s happening.

I will be watching and I’m not sure if anyone else is also doing a live stream but I’m just going to stick to PocketNow’s live show.

BlackBerry’s Z(ed)10 – New And Improved (Post Three)

Whether you like it or hate it, you have to say that BlackBerry’s new Z10, or Zed10, phone is a great big update from the older BlackBerry phones.

rim-2013-01-24-600-9

The phone has brand new look and feel on it’s own style. The phone’s 4.2 inch HD display and it’s narrow yet wide form kind of makes it hard to tell if you picked up a Z10 or an iPhone 5. Other than its looks, that’s really all the two phones have in common. If you remember, the phone does not have a ‘home button or a ‘back’ button. This is because the Z10 uses gestures to navigate its way around, which is as easy as you think.

On the top of the display there is a notification LED light and the 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera itself is much better than other’s would think. The new OS’s feel to the phone makes it a whole lot better. It’s fast to learn, easy to use, and all by using a swipe of a finger. One of the biggest updates to the OS was the BlackBerry HUB. This side notification system is a fast working ‘get in get out’ kind of thing. You can easily go in and see what you want to check on or no even leave the app you’re on and slightly peak to take a quick look. If nothing seems to spark your interest then you’re free to jump straight back in your app.

The Nokia Lumia 720 (Post Two)

The new Nokia Lumia 720 is a nice, well built Smartphone running Windows 8 software. There really isn’t much I have to type about this phone so I’m going to skips straight to the facts.

nokia720handsona

Nokia’s 720 holds 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB storage and a 4.3-inch high powered touch screen display. The Carl Zeiss that Nokia is also famous for is 6.7-megapixels on the back and 1.3-megapixels on the front. You can’t take off the back, like other Nokia phones lately, and it has a SIM and a Micro SD Card slot.

It’s also has wireless charging, which most phones are getting these days. The phone is a really good phone in you’re into the Windows 8 system and like the Nokia phones.
